Sarum Prime, Domain – A Sani Sabik modelling contest, hosted by Revan Neferis, has judged the field down to a final 5 of 100 original entrants. Announcement of the final winner is expected shortly, along with the distribution of the 2 billion ISK prize fund.

As a Sani Sabik event, the contest emphasizes beauty as a sign of an entrant’s genetic traits and a model’s attitude, history and reputation is therefore also likley to influence the judges. Certain challenges of an undisclosed nature were also undertaken in private by the finalists.

The contest was limited to 100 entrants, with a panel of five judges: event host and former leader of Bloodveil, Revan Neferis of Propaganda Due; Darveses of printcraft; former leader of Glamour Syndicate, Kaleigh Doyle of Seduction Studios; Koronakesh from Noir. Mercenary Group and Vlad Cetes of Destructive Influence.

Entrants were also judged on their answers to the question “Why do you want to be top?” and encouraged to “Be creative, be harsh, be daring, play dirty and bring us your best shot!” in their replies.

The final five models competing for the 2 billion ISK in prizes are: Killer Gandry of Red Horizon; former co-CEO of the Guiding Hand Social Club, Istvaan Shogaatsu (now a member of Rogue Drone Systems); Aliastra pilot jetena, Mercy Regard and Fort (both from Veto.). Announcement of the final winner and the exact nature of the prize is expected soon.

eve university director of education steps down

Aldrat, Metropolis – Dierdra Vaal, Director of Education for the prestigious training institution, EVE University, officially stepped down from her post on March 6th.

Dierdra has also served on the first, third and fifth Councils of Stellar Management as Councilperson, Chair and Vice-chair respectively.

As the CSM 6 candidate list is finalized, Dierdra insists that she has no current political ambitions and is not currently considering a future run for re-election. She has in fact, stated that the several years of leadership responsibilities had made focusing on her directorship an exacting challenge.

EVE University CEO, Kelduum Revaan, offered several notes of praise on Dierdra’s behalf, even claiming that he fully understands “her wanting to take a break and some time to relax for a while”. Kelduum also confirmed that he is temporarily fulfilling Dierdra’s former duties whiile a replacement is chosen. Although he would neither confirm nor deny the identity of Dierdra’s replacement, he expects the new Director to be named publicly on March the 15th, to coincide with EVE University’s 7th anniversary.

Currently, Dierdra has not made any definite plans for her personal future, although she revealed that she intends to remain with EVE University while she considers her options. When asked if she had a favourite memory from her time with EVE University, she gave the following statement:

“It’s hard to pick one particular fondest moment. Many times I’ve seen pilots join the university as clueless newbies and grow into pilots who command fleets or start their own corporations. Seeing that happen over and over is the best testament to the work of everyone at EVE University and shows the value of the organisation.”

For the time being at least, Dierdra will retain the title of Professor Emeritus and will be readily available to advise the EVE University leadership, or lead the occasional course.

hulkageddon iv concludes with almost 3500 kills

Jita, The Forge – Hulkageddon IV has concluded with an alleged total of more than 200 billion ISK in lost ships.

Hulkageddon IV saw slight changes of the rules to inlcude destruction of all kinds of industrial ships including freighters, jump freighters, capital industrial ships, industrial command ships and the Noctis.

The most expensive kill recorded was an IT Alliance Anshar, a jump freighter piloted by Blue Halo which was destroyed in the Sagain system and estimated to be worth 6.3 billion ISK. Amongst other items it was reported to be carrying several battlecruisers, T2 frigates, T2 cruisers and a command ship. Unfortunately we were unable to contact the pilot for comment.

The event consumed a total of 3840 ships, of which there were 1393 capsules, 864 exhumers, 676 mining barges, 506 industrial ships, 30 transport ships, 6 industrial command ships, 2 freighters, 1 capital industrial ship, 1 jump freighter and 1 frigate.

First place in the event went to General Tso’s Alliance [3XXXD]. They won the hulkageddon “Alliance/Corporation prize” and received two carrier class vessels and 3.45 billion ISK. Burseg Sardaukar, CEO of 3XXXD, claimed that his alliance was specially prepared for the event and focused on winning this years because of their good performance during Hulkageddon III. Burseg Sardaukar also stated that he is proud of his alliance members “ability to grief” and highlighted his most “notable member” as CSM candidate Manalapan, who has revealed she will support future Hulkageddon events if elected.

Sardaukar also achieved first place in the individual competition, scoring 164 kills and beating closest rival Leroxee by 30 kills. For winning the individual prize he received 2 billion ISK and a small group of faction ships, including a Nightmare, 2 Phantasm’s and 5 Succubus’.

Helicity Boson, organiser of Hulkageddon, stated that the event consumes her time and takes a lot of effort to create, run and later sum up and give away the prizes. The prizes in Hulkageddon IV consisted of a series of achievements from which not all were accomplished. Of those that were achieved, they brought the total prize value for the event to an estimated 30 billion ISK.

corporation thief caught and executed

Hayumtom, Domain – Amarrian low-security based corporation Quantum Horizons [.ANZ.] has identified a thieving corporation member and executed him in his own 2 billion ISK Machariel.

The saga began when .ANZ. anchored a new control tower in a low-security system. Soon after, ships began disappearing from the Ship Maintenance Array including “a Rook, a Dominix, 2 Scorpions, a Drake, a Noctis and several smaller tech 2 frigates” according to CEO SuicidalPancake.

SuicidalPancake explained that after two weeks, a trap was set using a Scorpion class battleship as bait. The theft of the Scorpion battleship was recorded at approximately 22:34 on 8th of Feb.

The thief, identified as Bobby Byrde, was known to live an extravagant life. As SuicidalPancake tells us, “Bobby was often seen flying highly expensive ships such as Machariels, Vindicators and Fleet Issue Tyhpoons, many fitted with faction and officer modules. It was well known within Quantum Horizons that Bobby’s favourite ship was the Machariel, he often used it for hunting in low-sec.”

With that knowledge in mind, a plan of punishment was drafted and a small low-sec roaming fleet was formed. Bobby “was convinced that he should bring his Machariel, because it would be the scariest ship in the fleet”, said SuicidalPancake.

He explains how Bobby was taken care of: “Instead of warping the fleet to the gate, I warped the fleet to a planet in the same direction as the gate. As the fleet dropped out of warp, Bobby’s Machariel was targeted and destroyed.”

In a press statement released shortly after the event, SuicidalPancake stated: “Thieves are not tolerated within Quantum Horizons corp. Bobby has paid heavily for his crimes, but his loss should serve as an example to all thieves across New Eden; you WILL get caught.”

Bobby Byrde was unavailable for comment regarding the event.
